Shear Keys in Construction
In the world of construction, where strength and resilience matter the most, shear keys are the foundation for Seismic-Resistant structures. They play a vital role in stabilizing constructions, assuring their endurance during seismic events, powerful winds, and other lateral forces.
RVC + TVC Members meet
Every year, the TVC community celebrates its foundation day in the month of May. This year we decided to do things a bit differently. We, along with some of RVC members, hosted a bunch of folks from TVC at the Rose Valley Collective farm. The farm team took everyone around…
“We keep optimising for financial security and there will come a day when we will realise we have forgotten to live.”
“We keep optimising for financial security and there will come a day when we will realise we have forgotten to live.” As we were talking with a member of our farming collective about our model, investments and more, the above comment from him sounded profound, yet so simple. As humans…
Earth Day — 22 April
Earth Day — 22nd April. A day dedicated to raising awareness about environmental issues and a reminder that sustainable practices are the need of the hour at this critical juncture our planet is facing. Urgent actions are needed not just to preserve and restore our planet for the present, but…
Last weekend was a momentous occasion for the community at the Tamarind Valley Collective. We kicked-off the construction of the member houses by lighting a lamp and many of us took turns in doing a symbolic ‘Bhoomi pooja’ by digging at the housing area. We will continue to share our collective experience and practices we are putting to use at our farms.
Voices of our Community — Rose Valley Collective
Our collectives are made up of individuals from diverse backgrounds and professions who speak various languages at home. However, they share a common vision for our farming collectives, which centers around regenerative farming practices, sustainability goals, and being part of a supportive community. These principles consistently arise when we speak with people who are seeking better ways of living, like Megha and Hitesh, who are sharing their unique perspectives.
The Making of Compressed Earth Bricks
How are compressed earth (mud) bricks better for the environment? They are local — made from the earth dug up for making the foundation for the houses. We use a hand press — thus using only human energy. They are dried in the sun — unlike conventional bricks which use…
